Best Food and Drink Events in Phoenix in July

Whether you have lived in Phoenix you whole life, or you are passing through for the season, one thing is for sure and that is you can expect some tasty food events throughout the summer. These events will focus primarily on summer foods like hot dogs and beverages such as rose wine. Here are some of the best food and drink events and festivals taking place in Phoenix this summer.

 

Summer Cocktail Camp

This event is hosted by Awe Collective and runs for nine weeks. Each week will take place at a different bar and focus on different cocktails. Some of the locations include Sel, Taco Chelo, Thirsty Camel and The Phoenician’s Mowry & Cotton. Each session will include up to four cocktails and end with a special takeaway gift. The event begins on Saturday July 21 and will run until September 23. Some of the sessions are already sold out, so you should grab your tickets as soon as possible.

 

The Wurst Festival Ever

This popular summer event returns and includes hot dog tastings from restaurants across the Valley along with live comedy, a pun competition and live music. Attendees will have the chance to vote on the “Wurst Weiner.” Short Leash, a popular spot in Phoenix for the summer staple is known for their creative hot dog toppings and they are looking for delicious combinations. So, check out their website for the annual Hot Dog Topping Contest and submit your recipe by July 18 and they will prepare the winning entry at the festival. The Wurst Festival Ever takes place on July 21 from 5-10pm.

 

The Taco Takeover

This summer, Scottsdale will feature the inaugural Cuervo Traditional Taco Takeover and Cocktail Competition. This event will feature Jose Cuervo cocktails as well as tasty tacos from local chefs. Your ticket to the event will include ten cocktail and tequila tastings and ten taco tastings, then guests will have the chance to vote for their favorites. By purchasing a VIP ticket, you will have access to the VIP Lounge which boasts a queso fountain, churro station and Cuervo Tradicional Paloma Bar. The Taco Takeover takes place on Saturday July 28 with Session 1 from 3-6pm and Session 2 from 7-10 pm.
